About¶

Founded in 2023, LACES provides consulting and software development services to a range of international and domestic clients.

The founder followed a traditional path of undergrad studies and co-op work in Civil Engineering. This lead to a rewarding career in design and construction of road and bridge projects, primarily those involving added capacity and interchange reconstruction.

Along the way, he found that the roadway design work was really a means to an end -- the fun stuff was in automating manual updates to CAD drawings and finding ways to make Software Product A talk to Software Product B.

LandXML was the original cheat code that enabled this "magic". Now, Industry Foundation Classes are enabling information sharing and collaborative digital project delivery like never before.

Values¶

Civil Engineers serve the public, whose safety shall be held paramount.

Open, well-documented data formats serve taxpayers best.

Users should be able to choose the tools and systems that suit them best, not ones that are dictated by others.

API access is preferred to manual file-based transfers.
